An eye-catching feature of the edition is the gold-coated clip in the form of two brushes like those used by Renoir to produce both the fine details and the more expansive surfaces of his masterpieces. The cap top is adorned with ultramarine precious resin encircling the Montblanc emblem. The cap top ring bears the engraving 1874, the year this new generation of artists, the Impressionists, had its first exhibition.
