Jewelry is meant to be worn, and when it comes time to clean or repair it, the Diamond Cellar is here to help.

Title

With a goldsmith shop that rivals many jewelry manufacturers in size, there is very little we can't do in-house. You can feel confident knowing your jewelry rarely has to leave our store for service. From cleaning and polishing a ring to stringing pearls to complete repairs or redesigns, our experts will do it right and stand behind their work.

Tip #1

Chlorine can damage jewelry. Remove all your jewelry before you go swimming or into a Jacuzzi. Don't wear fine jewelry when doing housework or gardening.

Tip #2

Bring your fine jewelry into the Diamond Cellar occasionally to let us check for loose stones or general wear. Regular inspection and cleaning is the best way to make sure your jewelry looks its best and lasts a lifetime.

Tip #3

Do not use toothpaste to clean jewelry as its abrasives can damage softer gems and metals. All fine jewelry can be safely cleaned at home by soaking for 10 minutes in warm soapy water (using a non-detergent soap). Use a soft brush on hard gems to loosen any dirt around the prongs. To reduce greasy build-up on diamond jewelry, dip it in plain alcohol or vodka before soaking.

Tip #4

Don't heap your jewelry into one drawer. Remember a diamond ring can scratch that pearl necklace. Keep them separate and ideally wrapped in velvet, paper, or silk.
