Buyers Guide

At the Diamond Cellar we travel to the world’s largest diamond markets to hand-pick the most beautiful diamonds available. We select only the most brilliant diamonds with the best combination of cut, color and clarity, and buy a variety of sizes to offer our customers one of the largest diamond selections in the United States. Since we deal directly with the cutters, we eliminate the middleman and can negotiate the best buys. We pay cash and buy large quantities to maximize our buying power. Then we pass the savings on to you, our customer. You simply can’t buy a finer diamond for less anywhere.

When you visit the Diamond Cellar to shop for a diamond, you will be served by someone who has made it his or her career to know about diamonds and jewelry. Every person that sells loose diamonds at the Diamond Cellar has passed at least the Diamond course through the Gemological Institute of America. These Graduate Gemologists and Diamond Certificate holders have the knowledge it takes to educate you about diamonds. That way, you will know exactly what you are getting and feel confident about your purchase. We are so sure we have better diamonds to offer at better prices, we invite you to shop and compare. You will see that nobody can sell you a more beautiful diamond at a better price than the Diamond Cellar.

Many jewelers claim to have the best prices on diamonds. They often run so-called “sales” on diamonds and advertise them at unbelievably low prices. But as the adage says: “If something seems too good to be true, it probably is.” Nobody is going to sell you a diamond for less than what it is worth. So when someone says their diamonds are 50% off, you need to ask, “50% off of what?”

One way to tell that you are getting a quality diamond is to insist on an independent grading certificate from a recognized laboratory. At the Diamond Cellar we use several different diamond labs that independently grade our diamonds to certify their color, clarity, proportions (cut) and carat weight. The labs that perform the grading are completely objective because they have no connection to the companies that will be selling the diamonds. CertificationThey have no vested interest in what price is assigned to a diamond. Thus, they can focus on determining the color, clarity, proportions (cut) and carat weight in accordance with GIA standards. On the other hand, a store that grades its own diamonds could be biased and might over-grade the diamond in order to charge more for it. That is why independent grading is so important.
